HMFP Hosts Colleagues from Sweden

Our Department of Emergency Medicine recently hosted a group of emergency medicine colleagues from the Region Skåne, Sweden. It was a pleasure to host our colleagues as well as share ideas regarding the practice of emergency medicine.During their time on campus, our visitors enjoyed presentations on topics such as the optimization and organization of high performance emergency departments. Our colleagues also learned about the ED operations model that is used at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. In addition, the program also included a guided tour of the Berenson Emergency Department at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center as well as observation in the department. The Emergency Department is a level I trauma center and treats roughly 55,000 patients every year. Our visitors received an up close look at the state-of-the-art facility designed to meet the needs of a high-volume, acutely injured or ill patient population. We look forward to working and collaborating with our colleagues from Sweden in the future.
