Educational Program in Denmark focused on undifferentiated geriatric patients and clinical nurse leadership

In May of 2014, Barbara Masser, MD, Chair, Department of Emergency Medicine, Beth Israel Needham, traveled to Region Sjaelland in Denmark to conduct a visiting professor program focused on the management of undifferentiated geriatric patients and the development of clinical pathways. A second educational track was led by Claire Riley, RN, who focused her discussions on patient flow and the role of nurse leaders, as well as the clinical topic of the chronic use of urinary catheters. It was a pleasure to visit our colleagues and share ideas regarding these important emergency medicine operational and clinical topics.
