Dr. Yeats specializes in process improvement, urgent care development, code help policy and ED overcrowding strategies. Dr. Yeats completed a residency in emergency medicine at the University of Ottawa in 1991, where he became an assistant professor of emergency medicine and an active participant in the research group of Dr. Ian Stiell at The Ottawa Hospital & Loeb Research Institute. He was the founding director and COO of the Orleans Urgent Care Centre in Canada’s Capital Region, prior to becoming assistant professor at Tufts University School of Medicine and holding a variety of hospital leadership positions at Brigham & Women’s/Faulkner Hospital in Boston. He joined the HMFP leadership team as an assistant chief of emergency medicine in 2010, with expertise in urgent care development & patient flow, serving as an advisor to the Massachusetts Department of Public Health ED Boarding & Crowding Task Force and as a member of the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts College of Emergency Physicians. Dr. Yeats currently serves as the CMO of Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Milton, leading quality and process improvement initiatives through the Silverman Institute for Health Care Quality and Safety. Dr. Yeats has lived and worked in Europe and Asia, is fluent in French, and maintains dual Canadian & European Union Citizenship.
