Carribbean Emergency Ultrasound Workshop

Five of our ultrasound faculty members conducted an emergency ultrasound workshop in Sint Maarten, Carribbean last week. During the intensive 2-day course, participants learned and fine-tuned skills in both basic and advanced sonographic techniques from fellowship-trained ultrasound faculty physicians who not only utilize POCUS in their clinical practice, but also train the next generation of physician sonographers on a daily basis. We hope this course provided a valuable and durable practical experience with diagnostic ultrasound to attendees so they may continue the excellent clinical quality provided in Sint Maarten hospitals. Our faculty enjoyed working with international colleagues towards hospital-wide acceptance of the benefits of implementing POCUS where it is most critical: at the patient bedside.
