David Chiu, MD, MPH is a consultant / attending emergency medicine physician, where he leads an agile and collaborative team whose purposes include maximizing throughput/efficiency, optimizing physician workflows, enhancing multidisciplinary teamwork and improving the day-to-day delivery of care. Dr. Chiu also serves as Vice President of Network Operations for Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians, a multispecialty physician organization that provides physician services throughput various hospital in Massachusetts. In this role, he works with hospital presidents and CEOs to lead efforts to expand specialty care, boost patient access, and advocate for physician wellness initiatives. Other administrative roles where Dr. Chiu serves include Executive Vice Chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine and Fellowship Director for Emergency Medicine Administration and Operations, where he gets to train the next generation of leaders in Emergency Medicine. He is also dual boarded in Clinical Informatics and works as a a developer in the Emergency Department electronic medical record. He completed his residency and chief residency year at the Harvard Affiliated Emergency Medicine Residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, followed by a 2-year fellowship in emergency medicine informatics. Dr. Chiu also obtained a Master of Public Health in Clinical Effectiveness at the Harvard School of Public Health.
