Who we are

Our Department of Emergency Medicine’s international projects division collaborates with international healthcare organizations in the creation of high-quality, efficient, and sustainable emergency care systems and emergency medicine educational programs.

Our organization is part of Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians (HMFP), a multi-specialty physician group practice comprised of over 1,000 Harvard Medical School (HMS) faculty members from all the major clinical specialties. HMFP members include internationally-recognized experts across all major academic medical disciplines who occupy key leadership roles within the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) and HMS. The heads of all clinical departments at BIDMC, as well as the academic and research program chiefs at BIDMC (who hold concurrent positions as deans at HMS), are all HMFP members. In addition, the Dean of Harvard Medical School and the Dean for Information Technology at Harvard Medical School are also members of HMFP. As a result, our international projects division is ideally positioned to be able to deliver top-tier consulting expertise, guidance and leadership in the domains of emergency medicine delivery and education system development.

How we work

We assemble specific project teams based on the unique needs of individual clients, drawing on senior faculty and academic leadership from Harvard Medical School and other Harvard schools, clinical experts, and leaders from within our expansive clinical network. We are uniquely positioned to apply world-class academic and clinical expertise to the challenges of conceptualizing and planning large-scale, integrated medical education and healthcare delivery projects on the local, regional, national and international levels. With years of experience advising and guiding clients in both the public and private sectors across a diverse range of geographic, socio-economic and cultural settings, we understand the complexities of adapting evidence-based best practices to local circumstances in order to optimize health and educational outcomes.

Where we work

We have a wealth of experience consulting both domestically and internationally. Domestically, in addition to ED consulting, we manage five Emergency Departments in New England which see almost 180,000 patients annually. Internationally, we have consulted for emergency medicine projects in Italy, Denmark, Morocco, Sweden, Iceland, France, Qatar, Germany, Belgium, Armenia, Georgia, Russia, Argentina, Ukraine, Turkey, the UAE, and the USA.
